Summary

Our cold rooms offer reliable, efficient environmental controls for a variety of applications; including: GMP Storage and Cold Storage for Seed and Agricultural Products, Nutritional Supplements, and more. Our cold rooms are typically supplied with desiccant or refrigeration based dehumidification in order to maintain a low dew-point and prevent ice accumulation on both product and equipment surfaces. Typical temperatures for our cold rooms range from of 0°C to 10°C.

Benefits

  • Tight temperature control for reliability and accuracy
  • Tight temperature uniformity of ±.5°C or better throughout the room.
  • Work with any space constraints, flexible custom applications.
  • Conditioning system can be replaced or relocated quickly due to simple water-type connections.
  • Precision Fluid Temperature Control Unit cooling system utilizes a combination of refrigerant technologies and glycol/water heat exchange technologies
  • Eco-friendly and typically require fewer than 1000 Watts to operate
  • System can be restored by a technician with no down time on the chamber.
  • Special accessories that allow uninterrupted operation and great convenience.
  • ADA compliance available with no additional cost to the customer.
  • Simple, easy-to-use, easy-to-service control systems.
  • Oversize evaporator fan coil eliminates the need for a defrost at 4°C or more.
  • Smooth ceiling, aluminum or steel, for optimal performance over competitors who use egg crate ceiling. Egg crate ceilings promote mold growth, difficult to service equipment, difficult to clean, and interfere with lighting and airflow.
  • Supplied with LED lights which emit significantly more light per unit of input energy than fluorescent bulbs. They also produce less radiant heat, and with less heat used, the cooling requirement for the controlled environment is diminished and the total energy used by an LED-equipped chamber is substantially reduced.
  • Personnel emergency alarm: illuminated pull to reset push-button (inside room), control panel mounted visual and audible alarm. Includes glow in the dark label and a glow in the dark antimicrobial pull cord that can trigger alarm when pulled, a life saving feature for injured personnel lying on the floor.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About Cold Room Environmental Chambers

What Are Cold Environmental Rooms?

Cold environmental rooms are used to test products with controlled humidity, temperature, and lighting. Any experiment that is temperature-sensitive can reduce the failure rate due to things like mold or exposure. Most cold storage rooms are unventilated and require regular maintenance to make sure the doors and other moving parts function properly.

You wouldn't use a cold environmental chamber for testing hazardous or flammable chemicals, acids, compressed gas, dry ice, and other volatile chemicals.

Who Would Use a Cold Environment Test Chamber or Room?

There are a number of different sorts of industries that can take advantage of precise testing under specific conditions. At Darwin Chambers, we work with labs, research institutes, manufacturers, and other organizations that need particular levels of accuracy for product testing. Typical industries include:

  • Parts / Electrical Manufacturers
  • Healthcare
  • Military / Defense
  • Automotive / Aerospace
  • Test / Research Labs
  • Universities
  • Insect Rearing
  • Pharmaceutical Manufacturers
  • Energy Production

What Are Cold Room Environmental Chambers Used For?

Different environmental rooms have different needs and standards. We are here to help apply our technology for:

  • Laboratories
  • Academic Research
  • Blood Banks / Medical Facilities
  • Process Containment
  • Product Testing
  • Inventory Housing

We make it easy with modular solutions that fit your exact cold room storage and environmental needs. Our equipment is modular, you can choose what temperature and humidity you want, and have your systems installed and maintained on a regular basis.
