Plant Growth Chambers – PG Series

Darwin Chambers PG Series, Plant Growth Chambers are a stock design with a variety of customizable options. They are quiet, easy to clean, highly reliable and ideal for plant growth use. They offer hot gas bypass control of refrigeration and resistance to heat, to facilitate reliable, temperature and optional humidity control.

Our standard reach-in is flexible enough to be redesigned as a bench-top, double door, or triple door upright. However, our popular PG034 (shown below) can be modified with slight dimension changes if need be.

PG011

PG011

The PG011 is a bench top plant growth chamber designed to fit on 24” benchtops or stacked with optional racking.

PG034

PG034

The PG034 is a single-door plant growth chamber providing extra cubic feet designed for maximum capacity while still allowing passage through most c …

PG068

PG068

The PG068 is a wide double door plant growth chamber. This chamber gives researchers additional growing room for their plants.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About Plant Growth Chambers

What Are Plant Growth Chambers?

We offer a variety of reach-in and walk-in plant growth chambers that provide researchers with precise control over various environmental variables for small-scale plant growth and plant-microbe experiments. These chambers allow you to control carbon dioxide levels, humidity, light cycles, and temperature. Our chambers can be customized to fit your specific needs and space requirements.

These chambers contribute to the characterization and comprehension of intricate plant-mineral-microbe interactions, metabolic pathways, carbon and nitrogen flux, and genotype to phenotype research. Data from studies conducted within these chambers play a pivotal role in furnishing the necessary data for modeling and simulating complex environmental systems on manageable scales.

What Are Plant Growth Chambers Used For?

Plant growth chambers are used in a variety of ways by researchers and product manufacturers. Below are a few of the main use-cases for plant growth chambers and who uses them:

  • Research and Experimentation
  • Crop Production
  • Product Testing
  • Academia and Training
  • Seed Germination

As research tools, plant growth chambers are indispensable and allow academics, scientists, and the agricultural industry to test plants in controlled environments. The agricultural industry utilizes plant growth chambers to conduct rigorous testing on crops, assessing their performance and resilience under controlled settings. Additionally, plant growth chambers play a pivotal role in academia and training, providing educational institutions with valuable resources to teach students about plant biology, environmental science, and agricultural techniques.

How Do Plant Growth Chambers Work?

Pathologists and other researchers can use plant growth chambers to better understand diseases and growing patterns in crops. The core concept behind plant growth chambers is reproducibility for researchers. It's important that experiments can be replicated, proven, and tested with different variables.

Plant growth chambers are able to simulate a range of growing environments. Lighting, temperature, and soil cultures can all be accounted for.

These chambers allow you to experiment with a number of variables, including:

  • Monitoring and control systems within the chambers that allow you to control humidity, light, and CO2 levels.
  • Precise air circulation within the chambers that allow you to control humidity, light, and CO2 levels.
  • Lighting systems that can be manipulated for day or night environments.
