Cabinet Construction
  • Stainless model has stainless steel front door, and sides on exterior. Interior is stainless steel side walls, back, floor, ceiling, and door liner. This unit includes LED interior lighting.
  • Standard model features stainless door, front, and brushed aluminum sides. Interior has coated aluminum side walls, door liner, and back with stainless steel floor and ceiling.
Doors
  • Positive seal, self-closing doors (gravity cam-lift) with 120 degree stay open feature. Door gasket removal and installation is tool-less. Glass door models feature double pane,”Low-E” glass.
Insulation
  • Entire cabinet structure and doors insulated using foamed-in-place CFC-free polyurethane foam.
Shelving
  • Wire shelves (3 per door) available in stainless steel or PVC coated. Shelves capable of supporting up to 150 lbs of evenly distributed weight. Gray PVC coated shelves are standard.
  • Full height shelf support pilasters, with double oblong holes on 1″ centers. Pilasters made of the same material as cabinet interior. Four (4) chrome plated, stainless steel shelf clips to be included for each shelf.
Refrigeration System
  • Unsurpassed temperature control through continuous refrigeration bypass system.
  • Refrigeration system factory balanced using CFC free 134A refrigerant.
  • Top mounted condensing unit.
  • Factory pre-engineered capillary tube system with over-sized condenser and evaporator to reduce product pull down time and to consistently maintain interior cabinet temperature (non-adjustable capillary tube system superior to problematic expansion valve).
  • Evaporator – epoxy-coated at the time of manufacture to eliminate the potential of corrosion.
Electrical Characteristics
  • Unit completely pre-wired at factory, and ready for final connection to a 115/60/1 phase – 15 amp dedicated (recommended) outlet. Unit runs approx. 6RLA under test conditions.
  • A cord and plug set is included.
  • A sole use circuit is recommended.

Popular options include chart recorder and TraceLock electronic/audit capable locks.

Features

DB Series

The DB series incubators all include heating capabilities and cooling capabilities. These units excel as general all-round incubators. They have lower temperature specifications than our thermoelectrically cooled units and have associated greater heat removal capabilities. These units are ideal for locations where the ambient conditions cannot be controlled very well or there is a live heat load - such as for HPLCs, shakers, or other laboratory equipment. These units will also outperform our thermoelectric units where specifications call for fast “open door” recovery times.

Typical optional accessories are Watlow controllers, Honeywell or Partlow chart recorders, 485 communications for PC control, temperature and humidity data logging monitors, full glass doors, full stainless steel interior and exterior, and more shelves.

As always, if you have different dimensions, specifications, probes, microprocessors etc., we can accommodate your needs.

Control System

All DB series models comes standard with a Fuji PXG4 (PID - Fuzzy Logic) controller providing a readout of actual and set-point values. This chamber comes with audible and visual alarms, remote monitoring and a numeric password protection. Plenty of alternative customized options are available.

Construction

Darwin Chambers DB series comes with a variety of interior and exterior finishes, and shelving. All chambers come with a 2” access port. See chart on specifications for exact dimensions.

Options

All DB series offer endless customized options. Common upgrades include stainless steel shelving, interior/exterior, various lighting options including LED, fluorescent, dimming options and microprocessor control of lights, upgraded controllers (West EC-44, Future Design Touchpad, Watlow, Allen Bradley, etc.), and more.

Services and Warranties

Standard controllers for the PH series are manufactured by Fuji Electric and are ideal for stability testing chambers. Unlike many proprietary controllers, this controller is commercially available and proven in tens of thousands of installations. Standard functions include: autotuning, fuzzy logic, PID control, programmable alarms, calibration capability, offset capability, etc. A touchscreen control interface is optional. Other controller manufacturers are also supported (Watlow, Allen Bradley etc.)

Service and Warrenties

Darwin Chambers Company offers 24 hour technical support throughout the lifetime of your chamber. In addition to standard warranties, we also offer extended warranties for cooling components, parts and labor.
